I think that hospitality has been challenging and fun this term, and I've loved it. My class cooked many tasty foods such as; apple crumble, Mars bar slice, Orange poppy seed muffins, Sausage rolls, Macaroni & cheese, Chocolate truffles, and many others! For our theory work, we had to make a recipe for a pizza that had a variety of toppings that had a balance of all of the food groups. This includes; fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy and rice etc. My pizza toppings contained:
-Pizza bread base
-BBQ Sauce
-Cheese
-Ham
-Mushroom
-Pineapple
-Bacon
-Tomato
-Chicken
-Union
I believe that my pizza had a balance of variety food toppings for my pizza. With at least one food from each of the food groups. Unfortunately, I was sick on the practical day when we made our pizzas. What I would of done if I was there was:
1) Pre-heat oven at 200°C
2) Make my pizza bread base first
3) Spread BBQ Sause over it
4) Sprinkle cheese on top of my pizza
5) Add, in this order, Union, Pineapple, Tomato, Bacon, Mushroom then Ham.
6) Cook in oven for approx 12 minutes
Overall, this experience has taught me many things about cooking and how fun it can be.

Activity 3
What is a Balanced Diet?
Compare these two diets with The balanced diet plate. Answer the following questions:
• Are any of the food groups missing?
• Are the correct proportions being eaten?
• How could the diets be more balanced?
Teenager:
- He is missing the food group vegetables.
- No, the proper proportions are not being eaten. He only eats a little bit and the food group with bread, rice, pasta etc. when thats the biggest food group. the only food he eats from that food group is spaghetti bolognese and thats hardly enough. Also, vegetables is the second largest food group and he doesn't eat any vegetables. He also needs to eat less junk food (food that contains a lot of fat). he eats too much foods high in fat, salt and sugar which is bad for your health.
- He could instead of drinking soda, swap to water. Also, instead of eating chips, he could cut up potato. And finally, he could replace unhealthy, chocolaty desserts with fruit.
Adult:
- She is missing the food group meat and dairy.
- No, the proper proportions are not being eaten. Even though fruit is good for her, she isn't having a variety of food groups. She news to eat more foods like; meat, fish poultry, eggs, milk and cheese. She also doesn't eat enough things like bread, rice and pasta.
- She could replace the apple with some meat for dinner like chicken or a sandwich with meat in it. She could also have yogurt for a light snack instead of fruit.
